DECOLights, International Energy Conservation, & NV Energy light up the Nevada State Legislation Building American Flag & Dome with Energy Focus LED.
Through NV Energy’s Energy Savings Measurement & Verification Program, IEC & DECO came up with a solution to lower the energy consumption of this iconic monument by 87% using Energy Focus EFO26 26W LED Landscape Luminaries. The existing system utilized (8) 175W Metal Halide Hydrel 7100 series fixtures, drawing approximately 205W each totaling 1,640W to light this monument. Through careful review and selection we realized the Energy Focus luminaire would do a great job in the same mounting positions as the existing units. Now the total power consumption at this monument for all (8) LED EFO fixtures is 208W which is very similar to the output of ONE of the old units. The longevity of the LED lamps in this new fixture are also rated for 5 times the life of the original product. Without including any utility or government rebates the maintenance and energy savings of these fixtures would have a return on investment of roughly 4.5 years. The LED lamps in this new fixture are rated to last 10+ years in this installation and will save the facility over $1,000 per location during this time frame.
